Expanding Education Across Life Stages... National Pukyong University Selected as 'Safety Education Institution'

Leisure Activity Safety, Natural Disasters, Rescue and First Aid Domains

National Pukyong University (President Bae Sang-hoon) has been selected as a 'Safety Education Institution' by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

National Pukyong University was finally chosen as a 2024 Safety Education Institution in three safety areas?leisure activity safety, natural disasters, and rescue and first aid?after on-site inspections and evaluations by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety last month.

A Safety Education Institution is an organization that systematically and continuously conducts safety education throughout the life cycle. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety designated eight institutions nationwide, including National Pukyong University, as 2024 Safety Education Institutions across 16 safety areas in five safety fields, and announced this last month.

With this selection, National Pukyong University will promote life cycle safety education led by the Water Leisure Safety Education Department of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (President Shin Jong-dae).

In accordance with the "Basic Act on the Promotion of National Safety Education," the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation plans to raise awareness of the importance of national safety and provide education to acquire safety knowledge and skills to effectively respond to various disasters and safety accidents.

Shin Jong-dae, President of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation at National Pukyong University, said, "We plan to systematically and continuously conduct life cycle safety education from childhood to adulthood, focusing on survival swimming, water rescue, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and first aid during safety education."

President Shin emphasized, "Through professional education, we will create a safe water activity environment and educate people on how to save lives in emergency situations, contributing to the creation of a safe local community."
