Available for Viewing from the 7th
Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) announced on the 3rd that the '2033 Gapyeong-gun Urban Regeneration Strategic Plan' has been approved by the Gyeonggi-do Urban Regeneration Committee and will be published as a public notice in the Gapyeong-gun Gazette and on the Gapyeong-gun Office website starting from the 7th.
Residents can view books related to the '2033 Gapyeong-gun Urban Regeneration Strategic Plan' at the Urban Regeneration Team of the Urban Division in Gapyeong-gun Office from the 7th until February 6th.
Prior to the approval of the urban regeneration strategic plan, Gapyeong-gun conducted surveys and public hearings to sufficiently gather residents' opinions. After drafting the plan, it was reviewed by the County Council and relevant agencies before receiving final approval from the Gyeonggi-do Urban Regeneration Committee. This strategic plan covers the entire administrative area of Gapyeong-gun (843㎢), with the base year set as 2024 and the target year as 2033.
The basic concept of the plan divides Gapyeong-gun into △ Ecotourism Conservation Zone (Jojong-myeon, Sang-myeon, Buk-myeon) and △ Regional Specialized Cultural Zone (Gapyeong-eup, Cheongpyeong-myeon, Seorak-myeon), presenting urban regeneration directions for each zone.
Additionally, a systematic diagnosis of urban decline was conducted in the areas of population and society, industrial economy, and physical environment. Based on resident survey results and urban regeneration potential analysis, two revitalization areas were designated: Gapyeong-eup Jatgoeul Market and Cheongpyeong-myeon Yeoul Market area.
Im Jin-seop, Director of the Urban Division, stated, “With the establishment of this urban regeneration strategic plan, we have laid the foundation to promote long-term resident-led urban regeneration projects,” and added, “We will develop detailed implementation plans to actively advance urban regeneration projects.”
