National Security Office "Reports 13 Democratic Party Lawmakers Including Bu Seung-chan... 'North Wind Campaign' False Information Dissemination"

On the 3rd, the National Security Office announced that it has filed a complaint against 13 Democratic Party lawmakers, including Bu Seung-chan, for violating the Information and Communications Network Act.

The National Security Office judged that the accused seriously damaged its reputation by spreading false information through a press release on the 31st of last month titled "The North Wind Campaign Endangering Citizens' Lives, Suspicions of National Security Office's Leadership Must Be Revealed," claiming that the Security Office directly ordered the Drone Operations Command to infiltrate unmanned aerial vehicles into Pyongyang, and that Shin Won-sik, the head of the National Security Office, was directly involved.

The Security Office stated, "The accused tried to tarnish the reputation of the National Security Office by invoking the so-called 'North Wind Campaign,' which does not even exist," and added, "The accused spread false information about the National Security Office based on tips from unidentified sources without any evidence, which constitutes a criminal act harmful to national security."

It continued, "At a time when the people are going through difficult and challenging times, the accused are exploiting social confusion to damage the reputation of national institutions and cause chaos in the Republic of Korea," and added, "As the security control tower, the National Security Office has taken strict legal action by filing a complaint to restore its honor and prevent further dissemination of fake news. We hope the police conduct a thorough investigation and severely punish the accused."

Earlier, on the 2nd, Bu Seung-chan, a member of the Democratic Party's "Yoon Seok-yeol Insurrection Truth Investigation Team," revealed that they received a tip last October that the infiltration of our unmanned aerial vehicle into Pyongyang, North Korea, was the result of a direct order from President Yoon Seok-yeol.
