Emphasizing Strengthening Semiconductor Comprehensive Services
"Last Year, SK Eco Established a New Foundation"
Jang Dong-hyun, Vice Chairman and CEO of SK Ecoplant, and Kim Hyung-geun, President, emphasized on January 3rd in their New Year's address that they will focus on systematic risk management and improving the financial structure.
Vice Chairman Jang and President Kim stated, "We will establish a sound financial structure that is resilient to external environmental changes by securing financial stability, minimizing volatility, and managing risks, thereby securing a stable business structure and laying the foundation for sustainable growth." They also said, "This year is expected to be challenging as well," adding, "To overcome crises and achieve greater leaps, we will enhance sustainability through a business model that provides essential value connected to the core areas of our customers."
They also revealed plans for new businesses in environment, energy, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction). They said, "The high-tech business will solidify differentiated comprehensive semiconductor service capabilities including semiconductor equipment construction, semiconductor manufacturing materials, gas supply, and memory recycling, and will devote full efforts to discovering and applying various solutions." They added, "The environmental business will be developed into a high value-added business for the future, and the energy business will secure trust through new growth engines such as AI and DC business models based on eco-friendly energy solutions." Regarding the solutions business, they emphasized, "We will focus on maximizing existing capabilities and securing differentiated competitiveness through expansion of environmental and energy businesses."
Vice Chairman Jang and President Kim evaluated, "Last year, in line with the group's rebalancing strategy focusing on semiconductors and AI, we reorganized the portfolio and established the foundation of the new SK Ecoplant by incorporating SK Airplus and Essencore," and said, "Let us make this year a year of true achievements through change and innovation."
