According to Woori Bank on the 3rd, President Jung visited the Namdaemun Market Merchants' Association as his first schedule after inauguration the previous day. Namdaemun Market is located near Woori Bank's headquarters in Hoehyeon-dong, Jung-gu, and has maintained a long-standing partnership with Woori Bank.
On this day, President Jung listened to the difficulties faced by small business owners and had a time to discuss bank support measures together. While serving as head of the SME group last year, President Jung promoted support such as providing smart card payment terminals to traditional market merchants and opening the headquarters and nearby branch parking lots to weekend market visitors.
The bank explained that President Jung’s choice of the Namdaemun Market Merchants' Association as his first destination demonstrated Woori Bank’s commitment to actively leading the expansion of win-win finance and revitalization of traditional markets.
President Jung then visited the Korea Management Innovation Small and Medium Business Association (MainBiz Association) located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to discuss support for SMEs and the activation of ‘OneBiz Plaza,’ a corporate supply chain finance platform. The MainBiz Association is an organization that helps promising SMEs grow into global companies through selection, nurturing, and support. Since February last year, the MainBiz Association has been collaborating with Woori Bank through an agreement to digitalize corporate purchasing activities linked with OneBiz Plaza, working to advance the digital financial ecosystem for promising companies.
Meanwhile, at his inauguration ceremony, President Jung stated, “‘Win-win’ growth with customers is the reason for the bank’s existence,” and added, “We will faithfully fulfill the role of providing smooth funding to the real economy in line with government financial policies.”
