"Yoon, the Symbol of Defending the Republic of Korea System"
Kim Min-jeon and Yoon Sang-hyun, members of the People Power Party, criticized the issuance of an arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol and raised their voices to rally their support base.
On the 2nd, Representative Kim spoke as a speaker on stage at a conservative group rally held in front of President Yoon’s residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul. He opened his remarks by saying, "I resented why he couldn’t endure when President Yoon declared martial law, but after receiving the impeachment motion, I realized my resentment was misplaced." He continued, "The impeachment motion states that President Yoon should be impeached because North Korea, China, and Russia are hostile to him," adding, "The core of this impeachment motion was whether the Republic of Korea would become a liberal democratic country like the United States or a country like North Korea, China, and Russia."
Representative Kim said, "Everywhere I go, Chinese people are coming out in favor of the impeachment motion, and tractors that have never farmed are roaming the streets of Seoul, South Korea," and "I realized this is the essence of the impeachment." He then said, "I thought the president must have been really lonely, and that he had been blocking them all this time," adding, "The essence of this fight is whether we continue to uphold liberal democracy or not. We must unite our strength to stop them." He also addressed the rally participants, saying, "It is true that the conservative forces in the political sphere, except for you, still do not fully understand the essence of this fight. You are awakening them to the essence," emphasizing, "They are manipulating the judiciary. They are threatening to arrest the president, which is not even allowed by law."
Following this, Representative Yoon also took the stage and said, "President Yoon has become the symbol of defending the Republic of Korea’s system." He said, "The essence of liberal democracy is the separation of powers, but the legislative branch has already collapsed due to Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party’s sympathizers," and asked, "Who are the forces threatening to impeach Han Duck-soo as acting prime minister and Choi Sang-mok as the acting prime minister’s acting authority, following the president’s impeachment?"
Representative Yoon also said, "Now the executive and judiciary are also collapsing. The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) has jurisdiction in the Seoul Central District Court for first trials, but the arrest warrant was applied for not at the Central District Court but at the Western District Court," adding, "This is because the so-called leftist judicial cartel’s stronghold is the Western District Court. That is why the chief judge ultimately issued the arrest warrant." Finally, he shouted, "One person, two people, tomorrow three people will come out (to the rally)," and said, "When three people gather, things change. Let’s unite, fight, and win."
