Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 3rd that it will accept applications for rental deposit loan interest support for non-homeowning families with newborns until the 31st of this month.

This project is one of Goyang City's representative childbirth support policies, implemented to alleviate the housing cost burden on families with newborns and improve residential conditions.
This program is in its fourth round this year and supports families residing in Goyang City who do not own a home and have taken out a rental deposit loan from a financial institution.
An amount equivalent to 1.8% of the loan balance is supported once a year up to a maximum of 1 million KRW per year for up to four years for the same household, limited to one child. Additionally, families who have previously received loan interest support under this program must apply annually during the application period and undergo screening.
This year's eligible recipients are childbirth (adoption) families who meet all five criteria as of the application date: ▲(First-time applicants) families who gave birth to or adopted a child in the previous year (2024), or (reapplicants) families who received loan interest support under this program in the previous year (2024) ▲families who have continuously resided in Goyang City with their resident registration at the time of the child's birth (adoption) report ▲families whose resident registration is at the location of the real estate stated in the lease contract ▲families where the applicant, spouse, and child(ren) do not own a home ▲families with household income at or below 150% of the median income standard according to Article 2, Clause 11 of the National Basic Livelihood Security Act. However, income criteria are relaxed for dual-income couples.
However, to prevent duplicate support for similar purposes, the following are excluded from eligibility: ▲recipients of livelihood, medical, or housing benefits ▲residents of public rental housing ▲those who have signed lease contracts with direct lineal relatives or spouses’ direct lineal relatives ▲recipients of similar housing support projects in Goyang City.
Applications can be submitted at the administrative welfare center of the applicant’s jurisdictional neighborhood office until the 31st of this month.
Applicants need to prepare seven types of documents including the application form, pledge and consent forms, resident registration certificate, family relation certificate (for applicant and spouse), etc. It is convenient to check the announcement and prepare these documents in advance before visiting.
