PCC investigators reportedly departed the office at 6:14 a.m. in five separate vehicles. The vehicles arrived around 7:20 a.m. in front of the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Upon news of the PCC's execution of the arrest warrant, hundreds of supporters of President Yoon gathered near the residence to hold a rally. Some support groups reportedly issued a mobilization order, urging people to "hold their positions."
The police deployed 45 riot police units and over 2,700 personnel in preparation for any possible incidents. Partial traffic control on Hannam-daero during the morning commute has caused severe congestion.
President Yoon is accused of declaring emergency martial law on December 3 and mobilizing military and police forces to incite a riot with the intent to disrupt the constitutional order.
