Two participants were arrested on the spot for obstructing official duties during a large-scale rally held in front of President Yoon Suk-yeol's residence in Hannam-dong.
Yongsan Police Station announced on the 2nd that they arrested one woman and one man near Exit 2 of Hangangjin Station in connection with the obstruction of official duties that occurred during a pro-president rally.
On that day, both conservative and progressive groups held rallies simultaneously as the possibility of executing an arrest warrant for President Yoon was being discussed in front of the residence.
The "Presidential Protection Rally" initially reported holding a rally of about 3,000 people on the road and sidewalk in front of Hannam-dong Luther Church, but as supporters gathered, they exceeded the reported location.
When the police demanded dispersal, some participants lay down on the road to resist. Despite five dispersal orders, the police forcibly dispersed the participants starting from 4:40 PM.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, the third day since the arrest warrant was issued for President Yoon Seok-yeol, police are dispersing supporters of President Yoon lying on the road in front of the main gate of the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
