Jeonju University Holds Launch Ceremony for Student Overseas Volunteer Group

58 People, Including 9 Faculty and 49 Students, Dispatched to Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia

Jeonju University (President Park Jinbae) held the 2024 Winter Overseas Volunteer Corps launching ceremony at the Onnuri Hall of Star Center on the 2nd.


This year, Jeonju University's overseas volunteer corps consists of 58 members in total, including 9 faculty leaders and 49 students, who will be dispatched in three teams.

Team 1, supported by the National Institute for International Education, will carry out educational volunteer activities for students in the Korean Language Department at Suphanouvong University in Luang Prabang, Laos, from the 3rd to the 31st (27 nights, 29 days).


Team 2 will conduct missionary volunteer activities in Siem Reap, Cambodia (Chambit Church, Yesumaeul, and Jehovah Jireh Church) from the 6th to the 17th (10 nights, 12 days), while Team 3 will engage in cultural exchange volunteer activities with university students from Hanoi University of Culture, University of Fine Arts, and University of Water Resources, as well as children at Danang Orphanage, from the 8th to the 21st of next month (12 nights, 14 days).


President Park Jinbae stated, "Please remember that the Jeonju University community stands with you wherever you are and in every place where you work hard. As representatives of Jeonju University, I hope you spend a meaningful and valuable time with pride and confidence."


Hwang Insu, Director of the Social Service Center, said, "I hope this will be an opportunity for students to grow through a life of service and dedication, and I will do my best to make Jeonju University a place that fosters practical volunteers with the right values and servant leadership inspired by the love and dedication of Jesus."


Meanwhile, as a prestigious Christian university, Jeonju University has been conducting volunteer activities in developing countries every year to realize the spirit of sharing, service, and active volunteering.
