Opening Ceremony... New Year's Military Administration Goals and Vision Announced
On the 2nd, Jangseong County in Jeollanam-do announced its vision for the new year with the county administration goal of "New Opportunities and Growth, Running Together with the People of Jangseong."
According to Jangseong County, the county plans to operate the "Year of Visiting Jangseong" this year, starting with the Jeonnam Sports Festival (April 18-21) and the Jeonnam Sports Festival for the Disabled (April 30-May 2). Additionally, it will provide experiential content such as free tourist taxis for visitors to Chukryeongsan Mountain, treasure hunts, and live busking performances throughout the area.
For securing growth engines, the county will promote projects including a 42.8 billion KRW rural agreement, a 27 billion KRW Daechang-dong urban regeneration project, the 30 billion KRW Jangseong Wonderland, and the establishment of the National Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Research Institute with a total project cost of 76.9 billion KRW.
Furthermore, the county will implement the "Smart Agriculture Development Zone Project," which provides young people with opportunities to take on challenges in smart agriculture. In connection with the National Subtropical Crop Demonstration Center in Samgye-myeon, which will be completed in 2026, the county aims to strengthen the competitiveness of "K-Subtropical Crops" such as Jangseong Lemon and pioneer the global market.
In the fields of environment and safety, the county will promote the installation of a new incineration facility in Hwangryong-myeon, the construction of the Cheongun Underpass in Jangseong-eup, and plans to rebirth Hwangryonggang River as a "River of Life and Culture." Chukryeongsan Mountain, well known for its cypress forest, will be developed into a space that connects "forest" and "rest" by establishing a forest recreation area and a wood culture experience center.
In the field of welfare, the county will provide entrance congratulatory funds for elementary, middle, and high school students, support university tuition, expand national and public daycare centers, build a youth daycare center in Samgye-myeon, and operate the 100 Won Happy Taxi service for seniors.
County Governor Kim stated, "This year, which is expected to see the highest number of visitors ever, will mark the beginning of the 'Era of 10 Million Tourists,'" and added, "I will join hands with all the people of the county to write a new history together."
