Expanded from 46 to 92 sessions annually
Operates every Monday and Wednesday from 2 to 5 PM... Consultation by appointment only
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) will double the number of 'free legal consultations' from 46 times a year to 92 times a year.
The 'free legal consultation' service, which helps resolve legal issues encountered in daily life such as civil, criminal, and family matters, has received great support from residents. However, due to the high demand, it has been pointed out as a drawback that it takes an average of more than one month from application to actual consultation.
Accordingly, the district decided to expand the 'free legal consultation' service from once a week to twice a week starting in the new year so that more residents can receive legal consultations more quickly.
Consultations are held every Monday and Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. for those who make prior reservations, and any resident living in Dongdaemun-gu can use the service free of charge.
Those who wish to consult can make an online reservation through the Dongdaemun-gu website or by calling the Planning and Budget Division's Legal Affairs Team. Consultations are conducted either face-to-face or by phone.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “We expect that this expansion will help reduce the time and financial burdens of residents struggling with legal issues, even if only slightly,” and added, “We will continuously monitor the service so that residents can use the free legal consultation service more conveniently.”
