Announced at the Opening Ceremony... New Year Schedule Begins with Visit to Hyeonchungtap Memorial

On the morning of the 2nd, Mayor Lee began the official New Year schedule by paying respects at the Namdong Yongin Central Park Memorial Tower in Cheoin-gu, along with about 90 people including Yoo Jin-seon, Chairperson of the City Council, local members of the National Assembly, heads of veterans' organizations, city and provincial council members, and senior officials.
After the memorial visit, Mayor Lee held a New Year's ceremony with employees at the City Hall Ace Hall. At this event, he emphasized, "Although this year will be a long journey, with the passion, ideas, and work pace shown by the employees last year, we will be able to overcome difficult challenges and achieve greater results."
Mayor Lee particularly urged, "Please pay attention to 'life-centered administration' to resolve the inconveniences citizens experience in administrative sites." He stated, "I hope many ideas will be proposed to improve the inconveniences or problems citizens face by listening to voices from the field and exercising observation and imagination."
During lunchtime that day, Mayor Lee also participated as a server in the cafeteria, encouraging employees by handing out yakgwa and sikhye.
