Wanju County to Provide 'Livelihood Stabilization Subsidy' Before Lunar New Year

300,000 Won per Person... Wanju Love Prepaid Card Distribution

Wanju County in North Jeolla Province announced on the 2nd that it will provide a livelihood safety support fund of 300,000 won per person before the Lunar New Year holiday.

The county is allocating approximately 30 billion won to stabilize the lives of residents and boost the local economy, as major economic indicators are declining due to the economic downturn and political uncertainties such as the impeachment situation are impacting the overall economy.

The funding for this livelihood safety support comes from the Integrated Fiscal Stabilization Fund, which was secured through expenditure efficiency and increased revenue for fiscal stabilization.

The livelihood safety support fund will be provided in the form of a Wanju Love prepaid card before the Lunar New Year, with a usage period limited until June.

To facilitate the payment of the support fund, the county plans to cooperate with the county council to establish a support ordinance and organize a supplementary budget.

Additionally, to boost domestic demand, the county will increase the issuance of Wanju Love gift certificates to 2.5 billion won in January and will implement an additional cashback program. To revitalize traditional markets, shopping events will be held, and an extra 5% cashback will be provided when using Wanju Love gift certificates at traditional markets.

On 'Wanju Mall', from this month until March, there will be a 10% discount on all products and compensation for discounts offered by participating businesses. The county also plans to quickly launch secondary loan support projects for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners to help stabilize their management in the face of current difficulties.

County Governor Yoo Heetae said, "I hope this livelihood safety support fund will serve as a catalyst for stabilizing the lives of our residents and revitalizing the local economy during these challenging times," adding, "We will actively cooperate with the county council to organize a prompt supplementary budget so that the funds can be distributed before the Lunar New Year holiday."
