Kim Seokwoong, the new Deputy District Head (Deputy Director-General), began his duties on the 2nd without an inauguration ceremony.
According to Gwangsan District, Deputy District Head Kim passed the 9th Local Higher Civil Service Examination and entered public service in 2004. He has served as Director of International Exchange, Director of Policy Planning, Director of Autonomous Administration, and Director of Integrated Airport and Transportation at Gwangju City Hall.

Until recently, he served as Director of Integrated Airport and Transportation, where he played a key role in facilitating the joint announcement of the relocation of the military airport by Gwangju and Jeonnam, organizing forums on noise countermeasures related to the relocation of both civil and military airports, and actively promoting public relations to foster a cooperative atmosphere and improve public awareness.
Deputy District Head Kim omitted the inauguration ceremony in accordance with the national mourning period and immediately began his official duties.
Deputy District Head Kim stated, "I will do my utmost to ensure the success of the 8th popularly elected Gwangsan District administration, which aims to put citizens first and drive the development of Gwangju and the innovation of the Republic of Korea. I will dedicate all my efforts to creating an environment where every public official can work enthusiastically as one team."
