Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced on the 2nd that it is conducting support activities, including donating 800 million won in donations to mourn the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident that occurred at Muan Airport on the 29th of last month and to comfort the bereaved families.
First, KEPCO and its power group companies donated 800 million won to the Community Chest of Korea to support the victims and bereaved families of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident at Muan Airport.
In addition, immediately after the accident, emergency power generators were deployed to ensure smooth power supply at the joint memorial altars and temporary morgues set up at Muan Airport and the Comprehensive Sports Park. A booth was also established at the joint memorial altar to provide cold-weather supplies, beverages, and mobile phone charging services for the bereaved families with the help of local volunteers.
Kim Dong-chul, President of KEPCO, said, "I deeply express my condolences to those who tragically lost their lives in this accident. As a representative company of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Joint Innovation City, not far from Muan, we will do our best to support the recovery efforts of those involved at the accident site and assist the bereaved families."
