Mayor Kang Su-hyun "Listening to Citizens' Voices... Committed to Providing More Convenient Services"
Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 2nd that it will significantly improve the 'Public Taxi Project' operated to alleviate transportation inconveniences for residents in transportation-disadvantaged areas, providing enhanced services to citizens.
This improvement actively reflects the opinions of citizens using the 'Public Taxi' and focuses on increasing practical mobility convenience.
The main improvements include ▲adding transportation-disadvantaged areas (from the existing 40 villages to 42 villages) ▲differentiated usage frequency based on village usage rates ▲adding destinations reflecting residents' demand ▲improving taxi call acceptance rates through increased subsidies for transportation-disadvantaged areas.
Kang Su-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, said, "The public taxi has established itself as a service that provides practical help and inspiration to citizens beyond being a simple means of transportation," adding, "We will continue to listen to citizens' voices and strive to provide more convenient and satisfactory services."
Meanwhile, the 'Public Taxi' is a project aimed at resolving transportation imbalance issues and guaranteeing mobility rights for citizens living in areas with poor transportation conditions, and it can be used in villages designated as transportation-disadvantaged areas.
