[Featured Stock] Intecplus Highlights MOU with Investor Robot AI Startup Playp Rainbow Robotics

Intecplus is showing strong performance. It is believed to be influenced by the news that the investment company, robot AI startup Plaif, signed a joint development business agreement (MOU) with Rainbow Robotics.

As of 1:50 PM on the 2nd, Intecplus is trading at 10,870 KRW, up 8.37% compared to the previous day.

According to the industry, Plaif signed a business agreement (MOU) with Rainbow Robotics in October last year for sustainable mutual cooperation. The two companies plan to build a cooperative system by applying Plaif's AI software to the mobile dual-arm robot developed by Rainbow Robotics and jointly developing autonomous manufacturing and assembly solutions that can be applied to advanced industrial sites.

Plaif is an AI robot solution company that develops artificial intelligence for the eyes, actions, and senses of robots to realize fully autonomous robots. Plaif's ‘PALS (PLAiF’s Adaptive Learning System)’ is a differentiated technology that allows robots to learn by themselves through failure, solving various problems that existing rule-based robots cannot solve and accomplishing tasks that only humans can do.

Rainbow Robotics is officially selling the AI expert research platform ‘RB-Y1’. As a research platform, RB-Y1 has dual arms with 7 degrees of freedom per arm for smooth movements similar to human motion. It is a humanoid robot with a six-degree-of-freedom single leg for a wide working radius and a wheeled mobile platform.

Additionally, on the 31st of last month, Samsung Electronics became the largest shareholder of Rainbow Robotics. Samsung Electronics announced that it would exercise a call option (the right to buy at a predetermined price) on the shares of Rainbow Robotics it holds.

Samsung Electronics' existing stake in Rainbow Robotics was 14.7%, but after the transfer transaction following the call option exercise in February, the stake will increase to 35%. Rainbow Robotics is expected to be included as a subsidiary in Samsung Electronics' consolidated financial statements. Following this news, Rainbow Robotics is hitting the upper price limit.

Meanwhile, Intecplus invested 3 billion KRW in Plaif in 2023 and holds a 19.9% stake.
