Goseong-gun Holds Opening Ceremony to Pledge a Hopeful Start to the New Year... Completion of Key Projects

On the 2nd, Goseong County in Gyeongnam held a New Year's ceremony in the county office's large conference room to pledge a hopeful new start.

The ceremony began with an anti-corruption and integrity oath, followed by awards for citizens and employees who contributed to policy achievements, a New Year's address, and greetings with the staff.

Before the ceremony, County Governor Lee Sang-geun visited Goseong Market to encourage merchants and visitors as part of inspecting the livelihood sites for the new year. Afterwards, he, along with senior officials, paid respects by offering flowers and incense at Namsan Memorial Tower, Danghangpo Sungchungsa Shrine, and the Memorial Tower.

In the afternoon, he visited SK Ocean Plant, the anchor company in the Yangchon and Yongjeong districts, received a progress report, and expressed his determination to steadily promote the SK City construction plan linked with the Opportunity Development Special Zone, drawing a new blueprint for Goseong County's future.

In his New Year's address, Governor Lee Sang-geun said, “The first half of the 8th elected term achieved tangible results that the 50,000 residents could feel, thanks to the support of the citizens and the passion of the staff.” He added, “The New Year's motto for 2025 is set as ‘Jingwangbulhwi (眞光不煇).’ We will humbly yet resolutely complete the major projects of the 8th elected term.”

To this end, he presented five core goals: ▲ Creating a ‘Healing and Therapeutic! Ecological Garden City’ with national wetlands and pristine marine resources ▲ Building SK City as an economic hub city ▲ Solidifying the status of ‘Sports Industry City! Goseong’ ▲ Completing a ‘Premium City! Goseong’ where all residents are happy.

The governor requested, “Please continue your unwavering interest and support so that we can fulfill the value of county administration.”

Meanwhile, at the ceremony, commendations were awarded to 40 county officials who achieved meaningful results over the past year.
