NC's Kim Taek-jin and Park Byung-moo: "Rearming This Year with One Team, Collaboration, and Venture Spirit"

Kim Taek-jin and Park Byung-moo, co-CEOs of NCSoft, urged employees to unite and innovate in their 2025 New Year's address on the 2nd, stating that "2025 will be a decisive year for the company's survival and growth."

In their New Year's message, the two CEOs referred to the painful changes experienced last year and the preparations made based on them, emphasizing that "we must now abandon the luxurious notion that time will solve our difficulties."

They stated, "All these changes were essential processes for making a leap forward in the global market," and added, "Despite these hardships, we have laid the foundation for long-term growth by streamlining the headquarters structure, strengthening studio independence, reorganizing overseas subsidiaries, enhancing the competitiveness of live IPs (intellectual properties), and securing new IPs."

The two CEOs stressed the need for a turnaround, saying, "If we fail to show a growth inflection point this year, many of the efforts made last year will be in vain." They particularly mentioned the challenges in the global gaming market and the company's challenges, urging, "All members must come together as one and achieve the company's turnaround with a resolute determination."

For this year’s management keywords, the two CEOs presented ‘One Team,’ ‘Collaboration,’ and ‘Rearming with a Venture Spirit.’ They said, "We must abandon departmental selfishness and inter-departmental conflicts and unite as one team called NCSoft," adding, "We need to strengthen communication with the market and users for both existing live games and new games to regain trust. What we lack must be bridged through bold collaboration."

The two CEOs particularly reiterated the importance of the ‘venture spirit.’ They stated, "NCSoft must rearm itself with the venture spirit it had at its inception," and "We need to return to the challenging and innovative mindset of the founding days."
