Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that it received a ministerial commendation in the '2024 Resident Registration and Seal Certificate Services' institutional evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, in recognition of its efforts to enhance public administrative services.
This evaluation was based on criteria such as contributions to the improvement and development of the resident registration and seal certificate systems, efforts to promote the signature verification system, and raising public satisfaction by alleviating citizen inconvenience.
To address the inconvenience faced by office workers and others who have difficulty obtaining civil documents during business hours, the county operates an evening civil service office every Tuesday. In addition, to minimize inconvenience for new residents registered in Damyang, it produced a 'New Resident Guidebook' to provide various useful information.
The county also contributed to improving public service satisfaction by providing kindness training for civil service staff every Wednesday. This year, as a new initiative, it plans to waive fees for issuing resident registration and family relation certificates at unmanned kiosks to meet the growing demand for document issuance.
County Governor Lee Byeongno stated, "We will continue to do our best to provide high-quality administrative services to reduce public inconvenience."
