Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) held a New Year's visit on the 2nd at the Hyeonchungtap located in Jail-dong to welcome the year 2025, the Year of Eulsa (乙巳年).

This visit was organized to meaningfully start the new year by honoring the noble spirit of sacrifice of the patriotic martyrs and national heroes.
About 100 people, including Mayor Kim Dong-geun, members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, veterans' organizations, and senior officials from the city hall, attended to pay tribute through flower offerings, incense burning, and silent prayers for the dedication and sacrifice of the patriotic martyrs and national heroes.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “First, I express my condolences to the victims who lost their lives in the tragic passenger plane accident and pray for their souls,” adding, “I deeply engrave the noble sacrifice and dedication to the country of the patriotic martyrs and national heroes in my heart, and together with all Uijeongbu city employees, I will do my best to implement ‘Uijeongbu, a city that changes my life’ by prioritizing the protection of the vulnerable and revitalization of citizens' livelihoods.”
