Recruitment of 60 Dormitory Residents

Daegu City Gunwi County (Corporation) Gunwi County Education Development Committee (Chairman Gunwi County Governor Kim Jin-yeol) and the Korea Private School Promotion Foundation announced that they are recruiting residents for the Gunwi County Happy Dormitory until the 17th.
The Gunwi County Happy Dormitory is a project by the Korea Private School Promotion Foundation that provides various public dormitories nationwide at affordable costs to reduce the housing burden on university students so they can focus on their studies.
A Gunwi County official stated that through a business agreement (MOU) with the Korea Private School Promotion Foundation in July last year, they secured 30 seats at four Happy Dormitories in Seoul, including the newly opened Dongso-mun-dong Happy Dormitory (with a capacity of 750) in the second half of last year, as well as those in Hongje-dong, Gaebong-dong, and Doksan-dong; 10 seats at the Pukyong National University Happy Dormitory located in Busan; and 20 seats at the Daegu Happy Dormitory located in Daegu city.
The dormitory fees for each Happy Dormitory are set between 224,000 KRW and 348,000 KRW per month, but the Gunwi County Education Development Committee covers the difference except for a self-payment of 100,000 KRW per month, so selected residents from Gunwi County only need to pay 100,000 KRW monthly to use the dormitory, attracting great interest.
Kim Jin-yeol, Governor of Gunwi County, said, “We hope that local university students can focus on their studies without worrying about housing through the Happy Dormitory,” and emphasized the intention to support education by stating, “Gunwi County and the Gunwi County Education Development Committee will actively assist Gunwi students so they can pursue their dreams without worries.”
Eligibility requirements for application include students currently residing with their parents or themselves in Gunwi County for more than one year and attending a two-year or higher university located in Seoul and the metropolitan area, Busan, or Daegu.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the General Affairs Division of Gunwi County Office in Daegu City directly or by mail by the 17th.
