Held Emergency Committee Meeting on the 2nd
"Closely Cooperate with the Government"
Must Also Strive for Political Recovery
Kwon Young-se, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, stated on the 2nd, "We will concentrate all party efforts on national stability and the recovery of people's livelihoods."
At the Emergency Response Committee meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Chairman Kwon said, "I deeply feel the responsibility as the leader of the ruling party because politics is failing to fulfill its fundamental role of alleviating the people's concerns and promoting national development, and is instead becoming the root of problems."

Chairman Kwon also emphasized the responsibility as the ruling party. He said, "As a responsible political force, the People Power Party will definitely accomplish the mission entrusted to us regardless of any difficulties," adding, "As the ruling party, we will closely cooperate with the government and devote all our capabilities to restoring the livelihood economy."
He continued, "We will unite and reform the party so that the people can believe that the People Power Party is the only force capable of properly leading our country," and said, "We will listen to the voices of the people and meet their expectations. Through this, we will restore public trust and support."
Chairman Kwon urged the Democratic Party of Korea to participate in the 'Ruling Party-Opposition Party-Government National Consultation Body' for the recovery of people's livelihoods and national stability. The day before, Chairman Kwon met with Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, and agreed to promptly activate the consultation body.
Chairman Kwon said, "It is fortunate that despite the difficult political situation, the ruling and opposition parties have agreed to activate the national consultation body to address livelihood issues," and added, "I ask the first opposition party in the National Assembly to actively participate in the consultation body with a responsible attitude and work towards political recovery."
