Enhancing Efficiency by Integrating New Technologies like AI
Seongho Park, Chairman of Sejung Group, announced his intention to completely innovate the business portfolio in his New Year's address on the 2nd.
Sejung Group is a fashion company operating its main brands including the distribution select shop Wellmade (Indian, Brunovapi, etc.), women's wear Olivia Lauren, online casual brand WMC, and fine jewelry brand Didier Dubot. Chairman Park explained that as the fashion industry faces difficulties due to global economic uncertainties, the group will accelerate digital transformation and respond agilely to changes.
To this end, Chairman Park presented three key strategies for the group: 'Reestablishing brand experience and value,' 'Managing inventory turnover to maintain brand freshness,' and 'Strengthening creative thinking and innovating the work environment by integrating new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).' In line with these strategies, Sejung Group separated the women's wear brand Olivia Lauren into a separate corporation in December last year, making it a 100% subsidiary of Sejung Group. This move aims to enhance expertise in the women's wear business and improve operational efficiency.
Regarding the integration of new technologies, the group plans to enhance business competitiveness through 'DT (Digital Transformation)' management. This means utilizing AI technology across all stages from design, planning, production, to sales to improve business efficiency, and implementing clothing products’ patterns, sewing, and fit using 3D fashion design graphic tools. Furthermore, the group plans to establish a foundation for mutual growth among business divisions and sustainable growth.
Chairman Park emphasized, “Above all, let us build the foundation of a 100-year company together with the ‘Sejung spirit’ that places customers at the center, acts agilely, and makes change and innovation a daily practice to design a sustainable future.” He added, “If we proceed diligently and quietly, and maintain an attitude of looking to the future with sharp insight, this year will be an opportunity to leap toward higher goals.”
Meanwhile, Sejung, which started as Dongchun Textile Industry in 1974, celebrates its 51st anniversary this year.
