In New Year's Address: "We Will Achieve Progress and Prosperity Through Change and Innovation"

On the 1st, Lee Wanseop, Mayor of Seosan City, Chungnam, stated, "In 2025, just as the blue snake sheds its skin and grows anew, our city of Seosan will achieve a leap forward and prosperity through change and innovation."

In his New Year's address for the Eulsanyeon (Year of the Blue Snake) 2025, Mayor Lee said, "Last year, with the attitude of 'Geuksecheokdo' (overcoming the times and pioneering the way), we wisely overcame difficulties and achieved remarkable results," and added, "As a result, we established a foundation as an international tourism city with the successful launch of the first international cruise ship in the Chungcheong region, securing our position as one of the top seven domestic cruise ports."

Mayor Lee also cited the smooth progress of Seosan Airport, which aims to open in 2028, and the groundbreaking of the entire Seosan-Yeongdeok Expressway section in May as achievements.

He further emphasized securing future growth engines for new industries by attracting the Green UAM (Urban Air Mobility) - AAV (Advanced Air Vehicle) core parts demonstration support center, being designated as a hydrogen city, and being selected as an Opportunity Development Zone.

Mayor Lee promised, "We have begun full-scale promotion of the public parking lot construction project in the Yeocheon District, which will resolve the chronic parking shortage at Lake Park and serve as a green plaza and urban lung," and added, "In the new year, with the attitude of 'Beopgochangsin' (creating new things based on the old), we will build on our past achievements to lay the foundation for the city's long-term vision."
