On the 31st, Ali wrote on her personal Instagram account, "I am going to the Gwangju memorial altar with my family," and added, "The original plan was to perform in Gwangju, spend a night there, then visit my mother's hometown with my family on January 1st next year before heading back to Seoul."

She continued, "Since the national mourning period was designated from the 29th of last month to January 5th next year, I canceled the concert. I thought about staying in Seoul, but after much consideration, thinking about when our family would have such an opportunity again, we decided to go down. Probably, those who boarded the plane also needed time with their families. My throat feels choked," expressing her sorrow.

Previously, Ali was scheduled to hold her 20th anniversary concert at the Small Theater of the Gwangju Arts Center, but it was tentatively postponed following the declaration of the national mourning period after the passenger plane disaster.
