Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will issue the ‘Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate’ worth 2 billion KRW and the ‘Gwangjin Sarang Gift Certificate’ worth 10 billion KRW in January 2025 to revitalize the local economy.
The district previously issued the nation’s first public-private partnership delivery app exclusive gift certificate in 2022. This initiative has been well received as it reduces food expenses for young people and lowers delivery app commission fees for small business owners.
First, the Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate will be issued on January 2 at 10 a.m. The Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate, which can be purchased at a 15% discount, can be used at merchants registered on the Gwangjin public delivery app ‘Ttaenggyeoyo.’ Individuals can purchase up to 200,000 KRW per month, with a holding limit of 1,000,000 KRW.
The Gwangjin Sarang Gift Certificate will be issued at 12 p.m. on January 14 in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday. Issued in units of 10,000 KRW, the Gwangjin Sarang Gift Certificate can be used at Seoul Pay Plus affiliated stores within the region. It is available at a 5% discount, with a monthly purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per person and a maximum holding limit of 1,500,000 KRW.
Both gift certificates can be purchased through the Seoul Pay+ (Seoul Pay Plus) app. In particular, the Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate will be issued regularly on the 1st of every month, and users can quickly receive issuance notifications via the KakaoTalk ‘Gwangjin-gu Office’ channel.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, “We are issuing the Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate and the Gwangjin Sarang Gift Certificate in January to revitalize the weakened local economy and promote mutual growth among small business owners and residents. Gwangjin-gu will continue to do its best to invigorate the local economy.”
