Yang Geum-hee, Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs of Gyeongbuk Province, visited Andong Jungang New Market and Andong Old Market on the 31st with about 50 employees from the Economic and Trade Bureau to encourage local merchants and delivered consolation goods to Woori Nursing Home in Andong.
In a situation where political and economic uncertainties are increasing recently, she took the initiative to visit the field directly to stabilize people’s livelihoods and revitalize the domestic economy.

After shopping, she held a meeting with the merchants’ association and local provincial assembly members to listen to the difficulties faced by merchants working in the grassroots economy and their opinions on revitalizing traditional markets.
Deputy Governor Yang then visited Woori Nursing Home in Andong to deliver groceries and daily necessities, promising that public officials would make meticulous efforts and take measures to ensure no marginalized neighbors are left out as the year-end approaches.

Meanwhile, Gyeongbuk Province, in response to the increasing difficulties faced by traditional market merchants and small business owners in the grassroots economy, plans to implement comprehensive measures starting early next year. These include expanding existing initiatives such as facility modernization, securing parking spaces, restroom renovations, and online sales, as well as campaigns encouraging public officials and employees of public institutions to use local restaurants, winter shopping in neighborhoods, intensive winter discounts on local love gift certificates, support for card fees, electricity bills, and water and sewage charges, special management funds, and cooperative efforts for local festivals.
