Pocheon-si Awarded Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Commendation for Excellence in Educational Cooperation Projects

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 31st that it received a letter of appreciation from Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, on the 30th in recognition of its contributions to the educational cooperation project.

The letter of appreciation ceremony was held with the attendance of Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon, Kim Jae-jin, Director of Gyeonggi Pocheon Office of Education, related officials, and parents.

Throughout 2024, Pocheon City has actively pursued various educational policies to realize diverse visions aimed at the development of local education.

In particular, in cooperation with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, it has promoted projects such as the Future Talent Core Competency Cultivation Project, cooperation projects for educational facilities and environment improvement, student commuting support cooperation projects, and free school uniforms and free meal support projects, striving to improve the local educational environment.

Additionally, it was selected as a pilot area for the Education Development Special Zone, strengthening the foundation for educational innovation, and achieved the securing of 4 billion KRW in national funds for the establishment of the Pocheon EduCare Platform. This signifies that Pocheon City's educational policies have been recognized for innovation and sustainability, laying an important foundation for a new leap in local education.
