The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that traffic will be controlled from 6 p.m. on the 31st until 7 a.m. the following day in preparation for the New Year's Eve bell-ringing event.
The police will deploy 300 officers, including traffic police, around Bosingak and will reroute vehicles away from the event area. The vehicle detour routes include from Sejongno Intersection to Jongno 2-ga Intersection, from Gongpyeong Intersection to Gwanggyo Intersection, and from Mojeon Bridge to Cheonggye 2-ga Intersection.
A police official stated, "Traffic congestion is expected in downtown areas such as Jongno and Sajik-ro," and urged, "Please use public transportation such as the subway whenever possible, and if you must use a vehicle, check traffic information in advance."
