‘Blooming Laundry,’ a specialized laundry service for workers' uniforms operated by Gyeonggi Province, has surpassed a cumulative laundry volume of 100,000 uniforms this year.

According to Gyeonggi Province on the 31st, following Ansan (No. 1) and Siheung (No. 2), the third branch was opened in Paju in July this year, marking the first service location in northern Gyeonggi. As of the end of November 2024, these three Blooming Laundry branches have laundered a total of 100,853 uniforms, receiving positive responses from local workers. Encouraged by this response, the province plans to establish a fourth branch in Hwaseong next year.

Blooming Laundry is a dedicated laundry service for workers' uniforms that are difficult to wash at general laundries or at home. In small-scale businesses handling hazardous chemicals, there are often no separate facilities to wash uniforms on-site, making laundry difficult. When entrusted to general laundries, cost issues arise, and washing at home risks contamination from chemical residues on the uniforms.

The laundry service is available to workers employed at small and medium-sized enterprises, with priority support given to businesses and workers at companies with fewer than 50 employees. Spring and autumn uniforms can be laundered for 1,000 KRW per set (500 KRW per piece), and winter uniforms for 2,000 KRW per set (1,000 KRW per piece). To ensure convenience for workers, pickup and delivery services are also provided.

We will continue to provide improved services by reflecting the voices from the field and do our best to ensure that workers can work safely and healthily with clean uniforms.”
