Special Membership Fee of 1.2 Million Won Donated to Support Socially Marginalized Groups
Red Cross Membership Fee, First Intensive Fundraising Until January 2025... Year-Round Participation Available
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on the 23rd that it participated in sharing by delivering the 2025 Red Cross Special Membership Fee to the Seoul Chapter of the Korean Red Cross.
On this day, Mayor Yu Seong-hoon, representing Geumcheon-gu, delivered a special membership fee of 1.2 million KRW to the Seoul Chapter of the University Red Cross. The district participates annually in paying the special membership fee to support socially marginalized groups in the local community.
The Red Cross Special Membership Fee delivery ceremony was held during the '2024 Warm Heart Event' hosted by the Geumcheon-gu Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association.
The event took place at Mabelle, attended by Korean Red Cross officials including Park So-young, Director of the Western Volunteer Center of the Korean Red Cross, as well as members of the Red Cross Volunteer Association and the Geumcheon Supporters of the Korean Red Cross, adding prestige to the occasion.
The Seoul Chapter of the Korean Red Cross expressed gratitude for Geumcheon-gu Office’s consistent support and active cooperation by presenting a badge.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, “We support the humanitarian activities of the Korean Red Cross, which strives to realize humanitarianism and create a society that lives together with neighbors through various activities,” and added, “We ask for the active participation of residents in raising the Red Cross membership fees to support those efforts.”
The Red Cross membership fee is a national donation voluntarily participated in by all citizens to protect lives and safety and support humanitarian activities of the Red Cross. It is used for humanitarian sharing and support projects such as assistance for vulnerable groups in Korea, disaster relief, public medical projects, blood services, educational projects, and social services.
The Red Cross membership fee can be paid through bank counters, virtual account payments, QR codes, and more. The Red Cross will operate the first intensive fundraising period until the end of January 2025 and plans to continue year-round fundraising activities until the end of November this year.
