Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is launching seven major measures to revitalize the local economy, reflecting voices from the field, to boost the frozen domestic market during the year-end and New Year period.

On the 30th, the district held a 'Public-Private Joint Livelihood Economy Meeting' to review the progress of the 'Livelihood Stabilization Task Force' formed immediately after the impeachment motion was passed, and to listen to opinions from economic organizations.

Presided over by Gwanak-gu Mayor Park Jun-hee, the meeting was attended by seven heads of local economic institutions and organizations, including ▲ Seoul Gwanak-gu Small Business Association ▲ Gwanak-gu Chamber of Commerce ▲ Traditional Market Merchants Association ▲ Korea Foodservice Industry Association Gwanak Branch ▲ Small Enterprise and Market Service Gwanak Center ▲ Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation Gwanak Branch ▲ Woori Bank Gwanak Branch.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to promote economic revitalization for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and stabilize residents' livelihoods.

The main agenda included 30 livelihood measures across seven areas: ▲ management support and consumption promotion for SMEs ▲ support for revitalizing neighborhood commercial districts ▲ activation and safety management of traditional markets ▲ price stabilization and establishment of distribution order ▲ job support for vulnerable groups ▲ rapid budget execution ▲ and strengthening public-private cooperation.

Mayor Park said, “To restore the weakened consumer sentiment, we hope people will use neighborhood commercial districts, markets, and small marts for small gatherings or purchases during the year-end and New Year period,” adding, “We will promptly carry out various projects and events directly linked to commercial district revitalization.”

Since the 10th, the district has been operating the 'Gwanak-gu Livelihood Stabilization Task Force' to respond to the current national situation and ongoing domestic economic downturn, aiming to alleviate livelihood anxieties.

The 'Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund Loan Support' has been expanded up to 5 billion KRW to provide early support to SMEs and small business owners facing management difficulties. Based on an annual scale, the issuance of 'Gwanak Love Gift Certificates' worth 40 billion KRW and 'Public Delivery App (Ttaenggyeoyo) Exclusive Gift Certificates' worth 1 billion KRW will be increased to promote consumption and boost sales. In January next year, 20 billion KRW worth of Gwanak Love Gift Certificates and 500 million KRW worth of Public Delivery App Ttaenggyeoyo Exclusive Gift Certificates will be issued respectively.

▲ The Gwanak-style Artterior project ▲ festivals by commercial district ▲ and support for revitalizing traditional markets and shopping streets will also be expanded compared to this year, focusing on revitalizing neighborhood commercial districts and traditional markets.

Additionally, the 'Employee Dining Day' will be increased to twice a month, encouraging all district office staff to use local restaurants and contribute to revitalizing the local commercial district.

To stabilize the livelihoods of vulnerable groups, recruitment for public jobs will be expanded in the first half of the year, and in July next year, the 'Gwanak Job Happiness Corporation' will be operated to provide stable employment.

To ensure rapid execution of the 2025 budget, the first half-year execution target has been raised by 5.7% compared to the previous year. Furthermore, the district plans to overcome difficulties through collaboration with the Gwanak-gu Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Association, Traditional Market Merchants Association, and others.

Gwanak-gu Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, “In 2025, the public and private sectors will unite to make every effort to revitalize the Gwanak-gu local economy,” and added, “Despite the difficult national situation, we will meticulously ensure that projects for the safe daily lives of local SMEs and residents proceed without any setbacks.”
