Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) announced on the 30th that it has completed the approval of the project plan by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and officially notified it on the 26th regarding the ‘Jungnang Startup Support Center Complex Project’ being promoted in the area of 195-3, Sinnae-dong, Jungnang-gu.

This project involves constructing a complex building with 2 basement floors and 12 above-ground floors on the startup support complex site in Sinnae 3 District, Jungnang-gu (land area 2,999㎡). The 1st and 2nd floors above ground will house the startup support center to assist entrepreneurs’ activities and social overhead capital (SOC) facilities for local residents, while floors 3 to 12 will be developed into 141 job-linked support housing units (public rental housing) for entrepreneurs. Job-linked support housing is designated to create youth jobs and revitalize the local economy. The Jungnang Startup Support Center was finally selected as a candidate site for job-linked support housing by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in July 2020. The startup support center and SOC will be operated and managed by Jungnang-gu, and the job-linked support housing will be operated and managed by SH Corporation.

The job-linked support housing consists of 101 units of 31㎡ (for one person) and 40 units of 44㎡ (for two persons). It includes small-scale workspaces inside and supports residents’ free entrepreneurial activities. Additionally, considering the residents’ lifestyles, various auxiliary welfare facilities such as shared laundry rooms, shared kitchens, and community spaces are planned.

The startup support center will be composed of spaces essential for entrepreneurs, including collaborative spaces such as co-working areas, exchange spaces, and meeting rooms, as well as a filming studio, editing room, and individual workspaces. The social overhead capital facilities will be designed as sports program rooms, resident meeting spaces, and multipurpose lecture rooms to promote the health and interaction of local residents.

The Jungnang Startup Support Center Complex Project is scheduled to begin construction next year with a goal of supply in 2028.

Hwang Sang-ha, President of SH Corporation, said, “I hope the Jungnang Startup Support Center Complex Project will become a space where young entrepreneurs can realize all their diverse dreams,” and added, “We will do our best to supply high-quality public rental housing to support their dreams.”
