This year, Yeongyang-gun carried out maintenance twice in spring and autumn on local roads (4 routes) totaling 177.1 km, county roads (13 routes) totaling 105.0 km, and rural roads (78 routes) totaling 294.7 km, striving to ensure safe road traffic and create a pleasant transportation environment.
In particular, despite difficult situations caused by road flooding and submersion in various locations due to heavy rains in July, as well as blocked traffic caused by fallen roadside trees, the county responded calmly and swiftly, preventing major accidents. This excellent response was highly evaluated and led to the award.
County Governor O Do-chang stated, “Everyone in our county is well aware of the poor transportation environment. Therefore, we have been continuously communicating with the Gyeongbuk Province and central government agencies to expedite the implementation of the main road improvement project on National Route 31 and the North-South 9-axis expressway project. We are doing our best to improve the poor road conditions. We will continue to do our utmost to meet the expectations of many residents.”
