Singer IU donated 10 million won on the 26th to the Love Briquette Collection Campaign to help low-income vulnerable groups in Yangpyeong-gun have a warm winter.
According to Yangpyeong-gun on the 30th, IU has delivered a total of 145 million won in donations to Yangpyeong-gun through the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest since starting with a 50 million won donation in 2020. This donation will be used for heating support projects to help vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security households and single-parent families in Yangpyeong-gun have a warm winter.
Jeon Jin-seon, the county governor, said, “We thank singer IU for consistently donating every year to support vulnerable groups in Yangpyeong-gun. We will spare no effort to ensure that the donated funds are used well to help energy-vulnerable groups have a warm winter during the cold season.”
Meanwhile, Yangpyeong-gun and the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest are promoting the ‘2024 Love Briquette Collection Campaign’ to support low-income residents in the area who are struggling to afford briquettes and heating costs during the winter by providing briquettes, heating oil, and heating supplies. The fundraising will continue until January 31 of next year.
The donated funds and goods will be entrusted to the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest, and donors can receive donation receipts and income tax deductions during year-end tax settlements for their contributions.
