Visiting the Joint Memorial Altar to Mourn the Victims
Choi Sang-mok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister as well as Minister of Economy and Finance, stated on the 30th, "We will remember the 179 victims who tragically passed away and devote all efforts to creating a safer country."

On the same day, Acting President Choi visited the joint memorial altar for the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident, set up at the gymnasium of the Jeonnam Muan Sports Park, and left a message reflecting these sentiments.
Acting President Choi, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ko Ki-dong, Acting Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (Vice Minister), and Cho Kyu-hong, Minister of Health and Welfare, mourned the victims.
After entering the memorial altar, he wrote in the visitor’s book, then placed chrysanthemums with gloved hands and bowed in silent prayer several times. Afterwards, he moved to Muan International Airport to console the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, earlier that morning, Acting President Choi met with National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik at the National Assembly to discuss response measures for the Jeju Air passenger plane accident. Both Acting President Choi and Speaker Woo wore black suits with mourning ribbons pinned to their jackets.
