Governor Gong Youngmin's proactive initiatives were the foundation for this award.
Based on his philosophy that "production is the responsibility of farmers and fishers, while securing markets is the responsibility of the administration," Governor Gong directly organized an export development team and targeted major overseas markets such as the United States, China, Japan, and Europe, thereby securing stable sales channels.
In China and Vietnam, promotional events focused on Goheung yuja and gim were actively pursued, and these efforts greatly contributed to enhancing the brand value of Goheung's agricultural and marine products. This also led to increased trust among global consumers.
The export achievements of Goheung County's agricultural and marine products go beyond mere export figures. They have led to revitalization of the local economy and increased income for farmers, demonstrating that Goheung's products are growing into globally recognized brands beyond just local specialties.
Governor Gong Youngmin stated, "We will continue to enhance the value of Goheung's agricultural and marine products and strengthen their quality competitiveness so that our farmers can feel proud," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that Goheung's products are recognized in global markets."
Goheung County plans to further expand its overseas sales channels and strengthen its competitiveness in the global market through customized marketing strategies.
In particular, the county will actively promote the expansion of agricultural and marine product exports by developing products that reflect the preferences of local consumers and carrying out aggressive promotional activities.
