Taean County Achieves Results This Year Including Revival of Taean 5-Day Market

Chungnam Taean County has achieved groundbreaking results in various areas of county administration this year, including the revival of the "Taean 5-Day Market," the opening of the "Taean County Family Empathy Center," and the proclamation of July 4 as the Day of the Fierce Biyul Islets, revealing prospects for regional development next year. Taean County in South Chungcheong Province announced that it has achieved groundbreaking results in various areas of county administration this year, including the revival of the "Taean Five-Day Market," the opening of the "Taean Family Empathy Center," and the proclamation of July 4th as Gyeokryeolbiyeoldo Day.

County Mayor Ga Se-ro stated, "With the support and encouragement of over 60,000 residents this year, we have revived the Taean Five-Day Market after 35 years, opened the Taean Family Empathy Center, which is the nation's top-level family cultural complex, and proclaimed July 4th as Gyeokryeolbiyeoldo Day, among many other achievements."

He added, "Based on the efforts of over 1,300 public officials and the unwavering support of our residents, we will continue to actively manage county administration in the second half of the 8th popularly elected term next year."

This year, the county opened the Five-Day Market in the "Walkable Street" area of Taean-eup for the first time in 35 years, aiming to preserve local culture, revitalize the regional economy, and create a vibrant image of Taean.

The Taean Family Empathy Center, which opened this year, has been praised as the nation's top facility for children and families, surpassing 10,000 cumulative visitors within just one month of opening.

Additionally, to raise national awareness of "Taean's Island," Gyeokryeolbiyeoldo, the county designated July 4th?the date Gyeokryeolbiyeoldo was designated as a state-managed coastal port?as Gyeokryeolbiyeoldo Day, which drew significant attention.

For the first time in the nation, the county launched a sports association for people with disabilities at the township and town level, hosted a boccia tournament, and began constructing sports facilities, thereby working to improve perceptions of sports for people with disabilities.

The county also achieved meaningful results in various public project competitions.

This year, the county was selected for major projects such as the General Rural and Fishing Village Development Project (Dangsan and Sachang areas, 4.8 billion KRW), the Fishing Village New Vitality Promotion Project (Jeongsanpo Port, 3.5 billion KRW), the construction of an indoor gymnasium in Geunheung-myeon (3 billion KRW), the creation of the Mallifornia Marine Leisure Tourism Hub (15 billion KRW), and the Chungnam-style Rural Live Together Project (11.8 billion KRW), signaling positive prospects for regional development.

In addition, the county successfully completed major ongoing projects this year, such as the Baeksajang Port and Daeyado Port Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project, the Chaeseokpo and Padori General Rural and Fishing Village Development Projects, and the opening of the second park golf course, thereby improving the quality of life for residents.

Furthermore, the county has achieved excellent results in various areas of administration, including the opening of the Anmyeon Imagination Library Life SOC Complex Facility, the construction of a senior care center, the enhancement of the honorary social welfare official system, the introduction of the "Our Village True Senior" system, and the implementation of the largest senior job creation project in the province for five consecutive years, raising expectations for regional development.

County Mayor Ga Se-ro said, "I would like to thank all the residents for their interest and support for Taean County this year," and added, "We will do our utmost together with public officials next year so that Taean can reach greater heights and usher in a new era of happiness for our residents during the 8th popularly elected term."
