The Ministry of the Interior and Safety comprehensively evaluated 243 local governments nationwide based on ▲efforts to stabilize local prices ▲management of local public utility fees ▲support for the activation of Good Price Businesses ▲inflation rate of personal service fees, and selected excellent local governments.

This year, Paju City promoted five major policies for the livelihood economy, including holding mobile market offices for small business owners, providing customized supplies support and expanding designation of Good Price Businesses (62 locations), and actively promoting the use of Good Price Businesses.

In addition, to eradicate overcharging, the city mandated price display during local festivals, froze water and sewage and garbage bag fees, and reduced public utility fees for vulnerable groups, thereby easing the financial burden on citizens’ households and contributing to local price stability, which received high evaluation.

Next year, the city plans to continue freezing public utility fees, promote a 10% incentive for Paju Pay, and further expand Good Price Businesses to stabilize local prices.

Furthermore, to support small business owners struggling due to prolonged high interest rates and economic recession, the city plans to expand special guarantee support for small business owners to 15 billion KRW. Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju City said, “Thanks to the efforts of Paju City and its citizens, we have achieved good results for two consecutive years in stabilizing livelihoods and revitalizing the local economy. Next year, we will continue to focus solely on citizens and strive for livelihood stability to bring vitality to price stability and the local economy.”
