In particular, about 3.86 billion KRW of this budget is designated for purchasing buildings within the sex trade district. Paju City plans to immediately demolish the buildings formerly used as sex trade establishments after acquisition, aiming to fundamentally block the operation of sex trade businesses and the intent of sex buyers.

On the sites where buildings are demolished, the city also plans to create on-site education centers for the sex trade district, parking lots, and other facilities to enhance the utilization of existing key facilities in the sex trade district.

In addition to purchasing buildings within the sex trade district, Paju City has allocated approximately 400 million KRW for patrol activities in the district, operation of key facilities, walking events on the "Travel Road" (a path for the happiness of women and citizens), and resident participation programs within the key facilities.

Paju City has also secured 378 million KRW in budget to support the self-sufficiency of victims of the sex trade, pledging to do its utmost to assist victims in rescue and reintegration into society.

Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju City stated, “The 2025 budget for closing the sex trade district was secured with great difficulty amid many challenges, and we will actively strive to achieve the maximum results in closing the district. We will make 2025 the inaugural year for the closure of the sex trade district.”
