Regarding the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster that occurred on the 29th at Jeonnam Muan International Airport, the prosecution has decided to form an accident response headquarters.
The Supreme Prosecutors' Office announced on the same day, "We have instructed to cooperate with related agencies for prompt support of victims and bereaved families and thorough investigation of the cause of the accident."
The head of the accident response headquarters will be Lee Jong-hyeok, Chief Prosecutor of Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office. It is composed of a total of 16 prosecutors from three teams: the Criminal Division 3 and Public Investigation Division of Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office, and the Criminal Division 2 of Mokpo Branch of Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office. The accident response headquarters will carry out victim identification and autopsy of the deceased, investigation of the cause and facts of the accident, and support for victims and bereaved families.
A prosecution official said, "We will make every effort for initial response while closely cooperating with related agencies such as the police and the Fire Agency."
