Meeting Held at Government Seoul Office Immediately After Accident
Choi Sang-mok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister as well as Minister of Strategy and Finance, instructed on the 29th to "mobilize all available equipment and personnel to fully focus on rescuing lives" in relation to the aircraft accident at Muan Airport.

At 9:57 a.m. that day, Acting President Choi held a meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters at the Central Disaster Management Office in the Government Seoul Office Building and gave these instructions to related agencies including the Acting Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Commissioner of the National Fire Agency, and the Commissioner of the National Police Agency.
Acting President Choi also requested, "Please pay special attention to ensure that no safety accidents occur to firefighters and others during the rescue process."
Immediately after the meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters, Acting President Choi is moving to the fire site at Muan Airport.
Meanwhile, at around 9:03 a.m. that day, an aircraft runway excursion accident occurred at Muan Airport. The aircraft had a total of 181 people on board, including 175 passengers and 6 crew members. So far, 2 people have been rescued, including 1 passenger and 1 crew member, and 28 fatalities have been reported.
