Presiding Over the Communist Party Democratic Life Meeting: "Leaders at All Levels Must Conduct Tailored Research to Solve Issues"
Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the situation China will face next year is challenging, and that difficulties must be well understood and resolved.
According to the Chinese Communist Party's official newspaper, People's Daily, President Xi presided over the Party Central Political Bureau's democratic life meeting held on the 26th and 27th, stating, "Next year's tasks of reform, development, and stability are very difficult and heavy."
President Xi emphasized, "Leaders at all levels must deeply penetrate the grassroots and the masses to strengthen investigation and research, clearly identify the urgent disasters and concerns of the people, and accurately grasp the issues that need to be urgently resolved at the grassroots level to conduct tailored research and solutions."
Regarding efforts to stimulate the economy next year, he ordered, "We must deepen reforms, expand a high level of opening-up to the outside world, promote the sustained recovery of the economy, not only to raise the living standards of the people but also to maintain social harmony and stability."
He also stated that the goals and tasks of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021?2025), which ends next year, must be completed at a high level, and a foundation must be laid for a good start to the 15th Five-Year Plan.
President Xi also emphasized adherence to Party discipline regarding the ongoing 'anti-corruption campaign' since taking power, saying, "We must be cold-headed and resolute, and must never become lax or indecisive."
