With "Unjustified Serial Impeachments, Democratic Party Paralyzes Government"

"Han Deok-su Acting Authority Impeachment is Fundamentally Invalid, Rash Impeachment"

On the 28th, the People Power Party directly criticized the impeachment motion against Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, which was passed the previous day, as "fundamentally invalid and a hasty impeachment."

In a statement that day, floor spokesperson Seo Ji-young said, "The impeachment of Prime Minister Han is a hasty impeachment that neither meets the requirements nor the quorum for resolution, and is therefore fundamentally invalid," adding, "We strongly condemn the Democratic Party's attempt to collapse the government."

Seo also criticized National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik, saying, "He proceeded with the impeachment process by applying the general quorum of 151 members as if carrying out the orders of 'Lee Jae-myung's Democratic Party,'" and added, "This opened the path to paralyzing the executive branch and is a legislative dictatorship that undermines the separation of powers."

He pointed out, "Due to this baseless series of successive impeachments, external credibility will decline, and economic uncertainty such as contraction of the livelihood economy will increase. The Democratic Party must take full responsibility for this crisis."

He continued, "The public will remember the smile shown by Representative Lee Jae-myung after the impeachment vote," and said, "No matter how much the Speaker of the National Assembly and the majority seats are used to paralyze state affairs, his own judicial risks will not disappear."

Representative Park Soo-young criticized on Facebook Democratic Party lawmaker Jang Kyung-tae's claim that if Choi Sang-mok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister as well as Minister of Economy and Finance, withholds the appointment of constitutional court justices, additional impeachment should be pursued, calling them "the Lee Jae-myung faction building up charges of treason against themselves."
