'Romeo and Juliet' Olivia Hussey Passes Away at 73 Years Old...

Olivia Hussey, the actress who gained worldwide fame for the film "Romeo and Juliet," passed away on the 27th (local time).


According to major foreign media, Hussey died at the age of 73 at her home on the 27th, surrounded by her family. It was reported that she had been battling cancer.


Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1951, Hussey later moved to the United Kingdom and began her acting career in earnest.


Her representative work is the 1968 film "Romeo and Juliet," directed by Franco Zeffirelli. Starring in this film at the young age of 15, Hussey gained worldwide fame, winning the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year in 1969.


She also appeared in classics of the horror genre such as "Black Christmas," as well as "Death on the Nile," and "Ivanhoe." She is survived by her husband David Glen Eisley, children Alex, Max, India, and grandson Grayson.
