Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) held the opening ceremony of the Hapjeong Silppuri Welfare Center (14, World Cup-ro 1-gil, Mapo-gu) on the afternoon of December 27.
At the opening ceremony, about 100 people including Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Baek Nam-hwan, Chairman of the Mapo-gu Council, council members, and local residents gathered to celebrate the opening of the Hapjeong Silppuri Welfare Center.
The Silppuri Welfare Center is a Mapo-style care model that realizes an inclusive welfare society where all age groups and classes are not marginalized. Mapo-gu aims to establish 'one Silppuri Welfare Center per neighborhood.'
The Hapjeong Silppuri Welfare Center, the sixth to open in Mapo-gu, is a facility with a total area of 1,271.5㎡ on the first floor above ground, located in the commercial area of Mapo Hapgang Prugio Apartments near Hapjeong Station.
Inside the center, the existing tenant facilities, Mapo Early Childhood Integrated Support Center and Mapo Disabled Family Support Center, along with Seoul Youth Mapo, have been newly established as the Mapo Anyone Movement Center and Hapjeong Silppuri Space.
Additionally, the Hapjeong Silppuri Mom Cafe is scheduled to be added in January 2025.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “It is very meaningful to be able to open the sixth Hapjeong Silppuri Welfare Center here, starting with the first Gongdeok Silppuri Welfare Center in April this year,” and added, “Mapo-gu will do its best to ensure that the Silppuri Welfare Centers become spaces that beautifully weave the daily lives and lives of residents beyond the concept of simple facilities.”
