Gyeongbuk Development Corporation Delivers 1,200 Briquettes to Low-Income Households... Lee Hyung-sik, Gyeongbuk Provincial Council Member, Also Participates

Gyeongbuk Development Corporation (President Lee Jae-hyuk) carried out a volunteer activity to share love briquettes in the area of Homyeong-eup, Yecheon-gun on the 26th. Despite the severe cold wave dropping below freezing, more than 40 executives and employees of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation participated in this volunteer activity to join hands for a warm winter for vulnerable groups. The Love Briquette Sharing volunteer activity held that day was attended by Gyeongbuk Development Corporation and the Love Briquette Sharing Movement Headquarters, and Lee Hyung-sik, a Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly member from Yecheon, also participated to brighten the occasion.

With the active cooperation of the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea and the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Headquarters of the Love Briquette Sharing Movement, the briquette support has reached its 11th year this year. The corporation has provided heating expenses and briquette support annually to cities and counties within Gyeongbuk Province, and this year donated 100 million won through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea to support heating costs and briquettes. Especially, as a local public enterprise in Yecheon, the corporation directly visited the households in Homyeong-eup, Yecheon-gun to deliver a warm winter gift and carried out volunteer activities.


The purpose of this briquette delivery volunteer activity, carried out together by the labor and management of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation, is to support a warm winter for vulnerable groups. The volunteer activity involved directly carrying 1,200 briquettes by hand to four vulnerable households in the Homyeong-eup area of Yecheon-gun, delivering them to their homes, and the corporation plans to continue the volunteer activities until households using briquettes disappear.


Lee Jae-hyuk, president of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation, said, “We hope that the warm sincerity of our Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation executives and employees will help neighbors going through difficult times in the cold weather,” and added, “As a member of the local community, we will continue to make greater efforts to practice warm sharing.”
