Daegu Office of Education Recruits 90 Korean Language Instructors for Multicultural Students... 1-on-1 Guidance Through School and Kindergarten Visits

The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eun-hee) announced on the 27th that the Daegu Global Citizenship Education Center under its jurisdiction will recruit about 90 Korean language instructors responsible for Korean language education for multicultural students in the 2025 academic year.

The "Korean language instructors" provide one-on-one Korean language and Korean culture guidance by directly visiting schools or kindergartens for students who have immigrated mid-way, children from foreign families, and multicultural students born in Korea who have difficulty communicating in Korean, thereby supporting their quick adaptation to school classes and school culture.

Applicants must hold a Korean language teacher certificate or a teaching certificate, and those who can communicate in foreign languages are preferred.

The application submission period is from January 2 to January 10 of next year, and applicants can download the related documents from the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education website and submit them in person or by mail to the Daegu Global Citizenship Education Center.

Required documents include the application form, self-introduction letter, certificate of graduation (or expected graduation) from the final school, certificate of career, and certificates.

The results of the first document screening will be individually notified only to successful applicants by January 17, 2025, and after interviews over two days from January 23 to 24, the final successful candidates will be announced on February 4.

The final successful candidates must participate in the training held in March and will begin educational activities in earnest from April.

Kang Eun-hee, Superintendent of Daegu Education, said, "Korean language education for multicultural students is very important for helping them adapt to school life and improving their learning ability," and added, "I ask many people with teaching capabilities to take an interest in and apply for the Korean language instructor position."
